 Hello my name is Elisia, I am 30 I am an ovarian cancer survivor I have PCOS and I was told without medical he having a child wasn't possible, I was 25 when I went into remission. I had accepted the fact children were not an option. On August 19th,2016 I went into the ER I wasn't feeling good, the thought was I might have another ovarian cyst or the cancer was back. After my pregnancy test they came in and informed me that I was indeed pregnant. Waves of shock, fear and happiness flowed through me. After the ultrasound I was told the baby was small and something wasn't quite right, I was around 24wks pregnant. I had to wait 3 days before I could see a doctor then another 2 days to see an OBGYN. Finally the day had come we were going to meet our baby, it was also the day my heart broke, we were told our baby would not live and were sent to a specialist where he told us our baby had Anencephaly, we chose to carry to term but our baby boy had other plans on October 26th,2016 Lysander Leo Jose Mendez was born sleeping. He had brought a light into our lives that wasn't there before. I encourage all mother's out there to enjoy the time they and have and have Faith that in the end these special babies give you more love than we will ever know.
