How did all start?
Pain around age 15
Do you already have a diagnosis? How long did it take you to get it?
Yes, I have a diagnosis. It took about 20 years for the diagnosis
For what medical specialties have you been treated? What has been the most useful specialty for your?
They first said I had Krohns, which I did not. Then just slow motility, etc. etc. Nothing really has been helpful in the long run
What has been the most useful thing for you so far?
They told me to take antibiotics every month. Alternating between three of them. To kill the overgrowth of bacteria in the duodeum. I take them about twice a year...............does not seem to make any difference.
How has your social and family environment reacted? Have your social or family relationships changed?
My daughter has now been diagnosed with SMA as well. It is hard for her as she is a teenager
What things have you stopped doing?
Long walks. Unable to work at a job in which I stand or walk for long periods of time
What do you think about the future?
That I will be happy, no matter what
So far, which years have been the best years in your life? What have you done during them?
30's. There was a quiet period in which no symptoms manifested. About ten years
