Born with tetralogy of fallot in 1952 I was given a temporary repair in 1954 at the age of 2 with the blue baby operation at Johns Hopkins Hospital. 8 years later in 1962 I had the full repair done by Drs. Blalock and Tausig. As far as I know, I may be the longest living pioneer of the full repair operation.
Some issues that I have lived with are shortness of breath when physically exerted and I have a hard time keeping concentrated on reading. I do not like to read because of it.
All in all, I have lived a good life thanks to the skilled doctors. I became an electrician and started my own company for 16 years. I am now retired and doing better than the norm.
