Mystery Diagnosis

Aug 24, 2021

Year Condition Began: 2018

Hi, I am typically a healthy person - one that doesn't pass out, feel lightheaded or need to eat before starting my day. However, one day (a completely normal day, shopping at a store) I passed out (experienced a syncope event). I felt a little strange, felt like the clothing rack moved. I took a step back and it felt like the floor moved and before I knew it, my legs buckled and I was on the floor. I do not believe I blacked out, because I believe I remember everything. This event led to me seeing a series of specialists. During my appointments, two MRIs revealed that I had lesions in my brain and on my spine. This began a thorough investigation into MS. After all tests came back negative (including LP, EKGs, blood work, etc...) MS was ruled out. However, I have been diagnosed with Transverse Myelitis. I honestly feel fine, but I have always been a tired person. Even though I exercise, my legs often get tired. I experienced my pelvic area (uterus) vibrating one time (which I read about with Transverse Myelitis). I have experienced some shortness of breath, but other than that I feel just fine. My arms and legs seem to work just fine. I have even experienced some zinging near my tail bone area (maybe sciatica?). Every now and then I experience some weird tingling or numbness in my feet or legs or arm, but nothing out of the ordinary or that I cannot tie to something I just did (like sitting too long or overdoing it on the laptop (arm feels affected like carpel tunnel). Lately, I have experienced back pain and discovered that part of my right kidney has died. I am in the process of going to the same specialists again in hopes of just finding an answer. Unless this is what many others go through at the old age of 47?

Other than that, I feel completely fine. No headaches, MRI remains unchanged, just not understanding why these things are happening.
