A Trigeminal Neuralgia interview .

How did all start?

I thought I had a tooth infection in 2015 and went to see a dentist, when I didn't feel better immediately I figured something else was wrong so I started visiting forums.

Do you already have a diagnosis? How long did it take you to get it?

I have a diagnoses I was formally diagnosed in 2017 by a doctor in Houston, TX.

For what medical specialties have you been treated? What has been the most useful specialty for your?

I was in a combination of three different medications and between the three of them I've felt some relief.

What has been the most useful thing for you so far?

My husband has been supportive and drags from out of depression.

What have been your biggest difficulties?

Getting others to understand that while I look fine on the outside, my inside doesn't reflect that.

How has your social and family environment reacted? Have your social or family relationships changed?

People have difficulty understanding what exactly is wrong and why it is spontaneous I am trying to come to terms with this and know that not everyone will understand.

What things have you stopped doing?

I've stopped traveling as much I hope to one day be able to be an avid traveler, I had to kiss my dream of living on the road in an RV traveling for months at a time goodbye.

What do you think about the future?

It is very uncertain and very scary as I have heard it can get worse though, I try to be positive but I can be difficult.

So far, which years have been the best years in your life? What have you done during them?

The best part of being in remission is when I am able to get more traveling back in my life and spend pain-free time with family and friends.

What would you like to do if you didn’t have your condition?

I would like to travel as a nomad around the states living out of an RV.

If you had to describe your life in a sentence, what would it be?

TN came into my life too soon, I wish I would have known I'd get this so that I could plan my life differently.

Finally, what advice would you give to a person in a similar situation?

It is hard but those times you are pain-free are miraculous and try to not take them for granted.
