Carotid Artery Dissection and depression
Can Carotid Artery Dissection cause depression? Could it affect your mood? Find out how Carotid Artery Dissection can affect your mood.
While at work in February 2019, i lifted a bag of items like i had done a million times.
This time was different, i had an instant pain across my head and neck. This was on the Thursday, the pain never went away.
So on the following Monday i went to my local hospital and was diagnosed with Spontaneous Intracranial Carotid Dissection.
I have been off work since, the headaches were very strong and started to get me down. Along with the other symptoms i had, Horner syndrome, ( Droopy eyelid, Sore scalp, cannot taste sweet food, Feels like i have a lump in my throat, Extremely dry mouth,
Hissing in my ear ). To say that i have changed mentally sounds to be correct.
I have become very short tempered, and feel like i can't be bothered with anything.
So my short answer to the question is YES. I do believe that this condition can without o doubt make a person depressed.
