It is a progressive disease with no known cure.

There’s no way to give a prognosis. You may have it in only one joint or with time more sites show AVN/Osteonecrosis in other joints

Most people have good long term prospects. A joint replacement hip can remove and replace the dead bone. That usually removes the pain and people are able to return to their normal life. The joint replacement will need regular review by the surgeon. It may also need to be revised (usually after 15+ years) to replace the worn out parts of the implant.
Some people have some loss of function that isn't fixed by the surgery that may be permanent.
Some people may experience ongoing pain that needs treatment.
