What is Aortic Dissection

Aortic Dissection description. Find out what Aortic Dissection is and know more about it.

Aortic Dissection:

Aortic dissection is a serious medical condition characterized by a tear in the inner layer of the aorta, the largest artery in the body. The aorta carries oxygen-rich blood from the heart to the rest of the body. When a tear occurs, blood can flow between the layers of the aortic wall, causing the layers to separate. This can lead to a variety of complications, including reduced blood flow to vital organs, rupture of the aorta, and potentially life-threatening internal bleeding.

Symptoms:

The symptoms of aortic dissection can vary depending on the location and extent of the tear. Common signs include sudden and severe chest or back pain, often described as tearing or ripping. Other symptoms may include shortness of breath, dizziness, sweating, and fainting.

Treatment:

Immediate medical attention is crucial for aortic dissection. Treatment options may include medications to lower blood pressure and heart rate, surgical repair of the aorta, or endovascular procedures to reinforce the weakened area. The choice of treatment depends on the individual's condition and the extent of the dissection.

It is an annuerism effect of the aorta lining in any of all parts of the aorta when blood flows are affected causing death in many occurrences

The aorta is the main blood vessel in the body. The artery that transports the freshly oxygenated blood from the heart to the organs of the body. The aorta is like a tube. The wall of this artery (tube) consits of three layers. An inner layer, a middle layer and an outer layer. Aortic Dissection is when the inner layer in the aortic wall breaks, and blood pushes its way into the cavity that forms between in inner and outer layer in the aortic wall, and starts forming a new passage for the blood, parallell to the normal bloodflow in the aorta. Wehen this happens the aorta starts to swell. If it sweels to much, the outer wall will also break down, and the patient will bleed to death quite fast. Complications from aortic dissection can cause the bloodflow to be disturbed to organs of the body, and this can cause dangerous or deadly conditions due to the dissection.

A tear/crack/opening in the Aorta (the main atery)

6/3/18 by Jeppe 2300

Aortic dissection is a tear in the inner wall (intima) of the aorta. Some of the blood flow enters the wall of the aorta through this year rather than flowing through the aorta. This can create a little blood stream in the wall of the aorta separating the layers of the sidewall of the aorta and increase the diameter of the aorta.

It is when the inner layer of the aorta ruptures and forms an alternativ way for the blood to flow

Over expansion of aorta to where it explodes.

The aorta is the large blood vessel branching off the heart. It is made up of and outer and inner wall. A dissection occurs when the inner wall tears. Over time this blood flow can weaken an area and cause it to bulge and eventually tear.

very simply "an Aortic Dissection is a Tear" in most often the Inner most Layer (Intima Layer) aof the Aorta which is the Largest Artery in the body in 4 segments The "ascending aorta leaves the Aortic ROOT and Right Atrium UP until the arch begins to curve UP and Over and behind the heart which is called the Descending Thoracic Aorta which lies between the heart and the spine till it goes through the Diaphragm (Bottom rib) where It becomes the Abdominal Aorta which splits into the Illiac arteries at about the top of the hip bones or Navel the tear can be just simple as can be or can also be that it separates the 3 layers from the top to the bottom (even Into one or both of the Illiacs if They Aren't found to be secondary aneurysms the subject is complex because each aspect can have Multiple variables in various people NO 2 are exactly alike BUT for various reasons
