First take the meds-- steroids help limit the damage.Next get in with a neurologist and ask for a referral for PT or Speech. Please know that you did not cause this condition-- sometimes it just happens. I think the best advice I got was a swift kick in the pants by my 27 yr old daughter who told me that I could not just hide away in my apartment. Going out in public was rough because of how my face looked but I am glad I did not allow myself to become housebound.
