COPD is a breathing condition that makes it difficult to breathe; akin to asthma. Unlike asthma, COPD can lead to other difficulties such as bronchitis and pneumonia. The airway is inflamed causing it to shrink; thus you are not able to get enough air into your lungs. COPD causes you to produce excessive mucus in your lungs and also causes emphysema which destroys air spaces in your lungs.
