Bryce's Journey so far...

We had no idea when we were pregnant that our son had LS.  In fact we didn't know he had LS till he was 1 month old.  Bryce was born with both hips and his right knee dislocated and clubbed feet.  The first doctor we took him to thought that Bryce's condition was due to his position in utero and began casting him at 3 days old with use of the pavlik harness to correct his dislocations and his clubbed feet. When he was 1 month old Larsens was confirmed by genetics and we went to another doctor at DC Childrens who had knowledge with Larsens. That DR continued to cast Bryce till he was 3 months old.  All treatments were stopped after 3 months and we searched for a DR with further knowledge and experience with Larsens.  We talked to DRs at 4 different hopitals. In the end we end up at Nemours AI Dupont Childrens Hospital in DE.  when Bryce was 4 months old the Dr performed quadracep lengthening on his right knee.  At age 2 the Drs performed ACL reconstruction on the left knee using the Iliotibial band. Bryces left knee looks amazing and so much more stable.  We are now preparing for the same surgery on the right knee.  Bryces ankles are currently still unstable and his right hip is not forming correctly.
