Acanthamoeba keratitis/26/16, I had the cataract removed and a lens placed. I now have some vision in my left eye. I have not driven since February, 2016, but am hopeful I will be driving within the month.

On 11/4/15, I scratched my cornea. A month later my eye still watered continuously. I was told I had recurrent erosion of cornea. On 1/11/16, I was diagnosed with shingles on my neck back and shoulders. 2/15/16, I was told I had herpes simplex in my left eye. During this entire time I continued to swim daily. I had been a daily swimmer for the past 5 years. I always swam with contacts. I never knew it was not recommended. By 2/28/16, I had been diagnosed with herpes Zostra in my left eye and suspicion of a parasite. A confocal on 3/1/16 confirmed Acanthamoeba and a fungus in my left eye. The pain was unbearable. Nothing eased the discomfort. I was on 13 different eye drops including chlorohexadine, PHMB, Voriconozole. My eye began tomturn white. Dr. Farid, at UCI, performed surgery wherein she removed the cornea, cleaned out the eye and teas planted a new cornea. In doing so she save the eye. I still had a huge cataract and a membrane so had no vision in my left eye. I continued on many drops. On 5/3/16, my pressure was 45. I had an Ahmed procedure. A tube and grFt was placed in the eye.on 10
