Make them listen

I was a 55 year old female, postmenopausal. I began bleeding vaginally but had other symptoms as well, hair growth, acne, weight gain, constant indigestion. My doctor sent me to a OBGYN who did a D&C, in one month the bleeding was back and she did a hysterectomy. After that I still had abdominal pain and gastric distress with weight gain and my BP was going up for the first time in my life. My doctor decided it was probably my gall bladder which was removed. Six months and many complaints later I had two groups of coarse black hair that had grown in just above my elbows. This was the thing that finally got someones attention and they did a blood test for testosterone. They immediately did a abdominal scan and I had a tumor 12.5 CM across and after it was removed we learned it was 25 CM long and had taken my kidney. Surgery to removed the tumor radiation to the tumor bed and mitotane therapy. There were nodules in my lungs which were resected Jan 2017 and found to be ACC as well. Since 2017 there has been no additional growths but I have maintained the Mitotane therapy in addition to prednisone and levothyroxine. I was diagnosed in Cookeville and referred to Vanderbilt. I have since been seen at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester and they concurred with the treatment prescribed at Vanderbilt.
