The asthmatic alpha

I am a mom to three amazing boys and a step-son.  Software engineer, by day, retired musician by night. Kind of hard to sing without breath!  I was diagnosed with AATD in December, 2016 and have a rare Gene... I'm M1Z.  There aren't many of me so I get lumped into the MZ category because who knows what else to do. My serum level is 10.1 so I'm super low. My pft is at 89 currently so no augmentation therapy yet, such is very likely the only thing that will help me get control of this Asthma.  I can't get enough time with a doctor who knows what aatd is to listen and actually hear what my life is like so I'm becoming my own personal researcher and advocate. Doing the best I can with this.
