A long haul

Took over a year for doctors to diagnose my ABPA. Even after a lung biopsy and visiting the top pulmonary hospital in the country, National Jewish in Denver, CO.

Took seeing an allergist after excessive allergy symptoms. When I asked him why pulmonologists hadn't figure it out, he said, "You should have seen an allergist".

This is how it's been for over 11 years.

ABPA led to bronchiectisis, which lead to pseudomonas colonization.

The diseases and effects, the drugs and their side effects are bad, but the worst part of the last 11 years has been dealing with doctors, their staffs, insurance companies and pharmacies.

Excruciating really. My wife and sister who is an RN and practicing nurse case manager help me. My insurance co. has assigned me a nurse case manager and I have a contact at the corporate office which owns the insurance company. And guess what, still a disaster.

Last week I was complaining to the ins. co. NCM about how bad she and the co were making it for me, explaining all the mistakes and hoops I had to jump through, ending with it made my want to blow my head off.

10 minutes later the sheriff was at my door for a wellness check.

Later that day, my pulmonologist berated me for essentially sticking up for myself and taking my health care into my own hands because his staff was so terrible.

11 years of this. I can give literally hundreds of examples like this.
