Our story

My significant other went for a minor hernia surgery. Three days later after two ER visits, he was admitted to the hospital for severe constipation. They got it taken care of and noticed his white blood cells were high. After eoght days, some testing and Three cat scans they discharged him from the hospital.
Luckily, we have a "parinoid" family doctor who insisted in a colonoscopy even though we were told over and over it was unnecessary because of his age and overall health, just blaming the episode on the pain meds. The gastronologist came out to talk after the colonoscopy and explained to me that he couldn't complete the procedure due to a tumor almost completely blocking the path. We searched for another who had same results. So on to schedule surgery in April 2017. 3/4 of his colon was removed. He was hospitalized for eight more days and released to start chemo.
Cat scan at six months of chemo found a spot on his liver, enlarged lymph nodes and Islands in his bone. No further treatment has been discussed so far. On #11 of twelve treatments of folfox.
