A Fluoroquinolone Toxicity story

I have been floxed too last year. Living overseas in Holland,  50 years old, fighting every day the horrible side effects since last november 2016, i took a double dosis of Levaquin for 4 weeks after several surgeries, oncluding a bone transplant and other antibiotic treatments like Gentamicine local treatment in my tibiabone on bonecement combined with 6 weeks 24/7 IV Floxapen recently because of chronic osteomyelitis in my knee and lower leg which that was only discovered after 2,5 years of suffering.

These side effects are worse than my bone eaten away by the bacteria. I even asked my doctor why he didn't amputate my leg instead of giving me Levaquin.

I have a lot of troubles with my tendons, enthesopatie in hands, arms, hips, and problems with my eyes.

I try so many things to feel better, i daily drink a portion of colostrum, provided by a collegue of my husband, vit D because it appeared to be very low, and extra vitamines and supplements such as magnesium, black berry leave, curcumine, ginger, New Zealand green-lipped mussel (Perna canalicula).

I did not find the miracle solution yet, but adjusting my life to balance between rest and positive activities help me.

I even quit my job and found one that combines my passion (cooking) and my skills ( ICT) within a small team that let me be flexibel about my working hours, to prevent me from having more trouble and pain.

There is not many knowledge here in Holland about being floxed. Luckely my orthopedist acknowlegde that I have problems due to Levaquin. I have a wonderfull an patient fysio therapist and a relaxtherapist who is specialist on chronic pain. They are both my mental coaches. And also my husband and my two wonderfull children support me on everything and make my life easier and support my to cope with this healthproblem

I wish you all the best!  Don't give up hope.
