Gastroparesis Journey

I was diagnosed with gastroparesis after 8 months of testing and fighting for an answer. It all started with extreme acid reflux. I had struggled with this since highschool (and had even been in the ER in severe pain). That being said I attributed my pain and dizziness and often nauseas to this.

However things progressively got worse to the point I could not stop throwing up after eatting. I lost energy and trying to work even an hour at my job as a recruiter felt impossible.

Eventually I left this role feeling stress was making it worse. I started slowly doing better. I still struggled with pain off and on, regurgitation, constipation and more. But I did not have insurance and frankly felt it was something I could deal with. After all compared to how it felt before this was nothing. Light flares were bearable. There was always an end in site.

Starting this October everything got worse. Longer flares, the pain and more. In January it got worse. In Febuary I lost my job due to my illness. That being said I will keep fighting.

Right now I have tried every medicine. Left is botox, a pacemaker, or my first choicr gastric bypass. I will not give up. I have a doctor in cedar falls Dr. Glascock fightijg for me now too. He is having an upper gi with small bowel follow through done. I also have had a new endoscopy, catscan, and emptying study done. For now i say hold on to hope!
