Daughter with Congenital Glaucoma 1986, a snippet of her life...

Hello, my daughter was born in 1986. Within an hour we were given the diagnosis that she had congenital glaucoma. I would like to share a little about our life together. My daughter showed courage, tenacity and determination from birth. Operation after operation to stabilise the pressures. I had the problem .. What was going to happen to her, how would she be accepted, how would she cope, what would her life look like.

Well, she is now 29. She has travelled, seen amazing places with her family... Australia, Greece, Egypt..

She met her soul mate, who has retina Pigmentosa, got married, fell pregnant and has given birth to a beautiful little girl.

What has kept me going is my belief in prayer, my love of God, forgiving myself, being kind to myself and having undying faith.

Even when sometimes I thought there was no hope left, I believed there is hope.

My daughter and I are so close and it turns out I need her more than she needs me. She has taught me to be kinder, unselfish, positive and to truly be happy.

And now, with her daughter. My granddaughter the future is bright. Our lives are fulfilled.

NEVER give up! Believe, ask and you shall be given all that you need in life.
