Tara Maynard’s Story

I was 40 years old and I had woke up with my hands and feet tingling. My kids were due back that day from their dad’s house and I was too excited to think about a little numbness and thought it was probably just a pinched nerve or something like that.

Later that night, I got up to use the bathroom and when I did, I fell because my feet were completely numb and so were my hands.

Now, my Mom had passed away from a sudden heart attack so when I started having the numbness in my hands I automatically started thinking about my heart and that I may be having a heart attack.

I called the ambulance because I didn’t want my kids to have to come to the hospital, so I asked my ex if he could stay with them just until I found out what was happening.

I went in and I never came back out until 5 years later. I was moved from the hospital to a nursing home and that’s where I lived for years until I absolutely couldn’t stand to be without my kids any longer. And then I decided that enough was enough and I made up my mind that I was going to leave and get my kids back and that’s what I did!!
