My life with LS

Diagnosed in 2011 at the age of 47, after the initial itching rash was resolved by Clobetasol, the only remaining symptom was painful intercourse. Then, a couple years later I started having mostly daily burning of the vulva, and irritation of the urethra. I had to start taking Azo for the irritation of the urethra, and Clobetasol and coconut oil daily to help with the burning and fusing in the vulva. Now it’s a constant irritation that rarely goes away. And I can’t stop the fusing from progressing. I use the oil and ointment to moisturize the vulva and try to pull the fused tissue apart. Sometimes it works, but many times it does not. I take daily baths in Epsom salts, which is soothing.

Between the symptoms of my Crohn’s Disease, the back pain from degenerative disc Disease (and recent back surgery), the foot pain from Charcot—Marie-Tooth Disease, and LS, each day is a challenge.
