Hashimoto

I was 42 when I was diagnosed with Hashimotos. I originally went to the doctor because I felt clinically depressed. It made no sense though to me. I had graduated college, passed my board exam, and was officially an RN at a great hospital. Everything was going my way. Soon though I began to spend 20 plus hours a day in bed. I could barely function, though I forced myself to. I couldn't think, I was constipated,  my extremities were swelling massively, I was gaining weight but barely eating. I was miserable. My doctor did the gamut of blood work and sure enough, my lthyroid levels were off the charts. I started levothyroxine and after 5 to 6 weeks, I began to feel better. Then, I hit a brick wall. Depressed, gaining weight, fatigued, achy...so I went in for my 8 week blood work. Sure enough I had hit a plateau and my levels were off the charts again. My meds have been increased. I'm now just waiting and praying and hoping to get back to being me. This is miserable.
