Discovery of PMDD

I've had PMDD since about 6 months after my 13yo was born. I experienced emotions in a whole new way. Uncontrollable, way more intense than I ever could imagine, and suicide ideation. On my own I realized these feelings went away after my period came and I had two good weeks. I spent a lot of time researching the symptoms, but without a name I had no luck. Then one day I saw a commercial for Yaz birth control that described my symptoms exactly AND gave me a name for the condition. This was about a year or so after PMDD started. I did more research and it all fit! Took my info to the dr, got my diagnosis, and started meds. Yaz did not work for me, but Prozac did. I started on 20mg of Prozac during luteal phase, and now I'm up to 60mg daily. Huge improvement, but some of the symptoms still exist. These I fight with my mind. I tell myself it's PMDD. I won't let myself get consumed in the negativity, and fight my way back to better moods with positive thinking.
