Crash

In a morning of 1999, I lost control of my car which roll over itself, making my head hitting the ground. I went to the hospital, nothing broken, no appparent brain damage, no headache so I was released at noon. It took me a few months to become conscious that I had lost hability to recognize faces and one year to put a name on it thanks to an american documentary on brain malfunctions. I'm still able to recognize many faces from before the accident, and new faces are like the spot you get in the eyes by watching a bright light, which slowly fades away. As well, I'm now able to keep memory of faces unless I don't see them for a couple of months.

I'm not officially diagnosed, since there are no studies on prosopagnosia in France.
