Stacey's PMP Journey

My journey began in 2015 when my husband and I tried to conceive. After one year we were unsuccessful and referred to an infertility specialist. Meanwhile, during this year I was in and out of the hospital,  ER, urgent care, family doctor, and OBGYN. I had an unusual pain in my lower right quadrant. I was diagnosed with anything from anxiety to pelvic inflammatory disease. After doing several infertility tests, my infertility doctor scheduled a laparoscopic surgery to unblock my fallopian tubes. During surgery is when my appendix cancer was found. My tubes were filled with mucin as was much of my peritoneal cavity. A tumor was protruding my appendix. One week later I received the pathology report of high grade PMP Appendix Cancer and referred to MD Anderson where Dr. F would be my oncologist. I had my MOAS/HIPEC 7 weeks after receiving my diagnosis. I am currently 6 months post op and showing NED. I've been put on a low FODMAP diet which has been great for me so far.

Mine was also found during tests for infertility. The mucin was squashing my ovaries! Congratulations on being NED!
