Sad Story, But Grateful

I had spent almost a while year trying to find out why my vision had become so blurry. Dec 30, 2017, my eye dr finally said, "I think you have Retinitis Pigmentosa.
At 71 I was not expecting to pick up a new disease. Love was so hard with Rheumatoid Arthritis already. My mobility had worsened a lot in the last year too.
I'm 72 now and it's been almost a year. I have had a difficult year. But, if I have to be going blind at the same time I'm unable to walk anymore, I am very grateful. I ha e 7 great grandchildren. I have lived, a lot. I have terrific memories of a life well lived. I am not 15, struggling g in school. I am not 25 with little babies and a husband, trying to start a life. I am not 45, scared now that I have to change careers because I need my sight to keep the job I ha e now.
I ha e done it all. Learning how to get around, not with an electric scooter, because I can't see to drive it, and not with a white cane, because walking is too painful is going to be a challenge. I'm up for it.
