TMJ

My TMJ problem started around 2009... When I went to my loca dentist regarding my wisdom tooth on inspection my dentist noticed that I grind my teeth as I had indentation marks on my tongue obviously I wasn't aware of this so my dentist referred me to my local hospital for a maxilofacial consultant to have a look and see what was causing my headaches and the pain in my tooth during examination the consultant thought that due to me grinding my teeth I needed a mouth guard and medication, I have had a hard mouth guard and a soft mouth guard both of which I grinder through, then he went on to trial different medication and it was still the same, then he told me that basically it was all in my head which I knew it wasn't so he decided to do an arthrocentisis four times which done nothing even with the steroid injection being inserted every time, I then had a CT scan and by the time I had the results I was seen by a different maxilofacial consultant who wanted me to go and have a second opinion by a colleague who he had done his training with only problem was Mr Green was based in Birmingham this did not bother me as long as I knew I weren't going mad I didn't care, anyway this was in 2011 and up to Birmingham I go he took one look at my scan and said 'It's knackered' to put it bluntly it has severe arthritis in the joint and nothing  will solve this apart from a replacement however due to me only being 24 at the time he wanted to do an arthrocentisis to see for himself to see if there was anything else he could possibly do to bide me time as if I had the replacement I would need another possible 3 within my life span here I go again having another camera put in and when he woke me he said there was nothing he could do apart from a replacement so I went on his waiting list had all the necessary tests done imaging was sent to America and then the replacement was done a year ago on the 21/11/15 since then it has been amazing however my left side has since worn down with the same that happened to my right side and now I'm going through the same process yet again!!!
