My TN

My TN started out as a a quick lightening bolt feeling in a tooth that had been pulled years ago. My PCP said it was a sinus infection. The infection never went away. For 2 years i was treated on different types of antibiotics. I requested to see a specialist to which i was denied several times. Finally, almost 3 years to the day, i told my pcp that if did not send me to a specialist that i would seek a pcp that would. That day she sent me to have a CT scan done. They found a tumor behind my eye and in my sinus cavity tje size of a golf ball.

I went to the UofM hospital here in Michigan and had the tumor removed, but there were complications removing it. The tumor was intertwined around the trigeminal nerve V2 and my optic nerve. It was also wrapped around the inferior rectus muscle of my eye. When they removed the tumor, i went from having an occasional lightening bolt to having anesthesia delorosa. The right side of my face is completely numb, but it is in constant pain 7/10 with 10/10 flares that last up to 30-40 minutes with a day or 2 of down time.

I have been to so many neurosurgeons, doctors, therapy specialists and everyone has ideas on how to treat it. But none have the answer. I take meds tjat make me loopy and distant. This is not a quality of life. I stay alive for my grown children and my grandchildren. If not for them, i would seek a way out.
