Trigeminal Neuralgia / Ohio

I believe I had this disease (in hindsight) my whole adult life. I'm now 56 and just officially diagnosed June 28, 2017.

I had lifelong chronic migraines. Told I had anxiety and depression problems. No meds ever helped. Some E.R. trips got pain down or gone....But left me like a lump Zombie.

Migraines dramatically slowed, almost stopped around age 50. I'm had my worse attack the f TN (undiagnosed) in 2008. Constant pain with swollen jaw and neck...Sent to oal surgeon..Drain tube put in....No infection or bad tooth found.  It was just passed off...Said it must have been in the bone.

On and off debilitating flares.  Next swelling attack to E.R....Another referral for dentist. Doc's won't listen to the history or details.   Got a root canal....That tooth had a tumor in it.

Next,. Sent to neurologist...Got MRI....Brain looks fine...Diagnosed with Trigeminal Neuralgia. and chronic vascular degeneration of the mandible.

My pain is constant with bouts of knife stabbing pain under my jaw and pain in/under my tongue.

So far meds not working. I'm dependable for nothing and now fear going homeless over this.Stress does highly aggravate this disease while in a flare up.
