Type B aortic dissection march 2017

on Saturday 18th march 2017 the day I was in agony felt like something had burst in back....I was blue lighted to Airedale hospital then from there blue lighted to Leeds general infirmary where I found out I had had a type B aortic dissection never heard of this ever so was a big shock and told I was in need of an emergency operation to try and stop the bleeding in my aorta later Sunday afternoon they had everything they needed surgeon told me what they were going to do, 6 hours later I woke to find my husband giving me a kiss saying how brave I was. But then three hours later the massive back and chest pain came back with avengence more CT scans to see what was happening, we then found out I was still bleeding but they didn't want to do another surgery so soon as my body had already been through a lot. I had to convince 4 top vascular surgeons that I was still in a lot of pain and had to beg for them to do another operation thank goodness 5 days later surgery no 2 happened to extend my tevar and fill the arch of the aorta with a liquid to try and stop it bleeding luckily this time it worked I stayed in Leeds for three weeks altogether and are now at home recuperating and wow how tired do I feel I feel like I have no energy but will hopefully get there and be able to go back to work. I feel very lucky to be alive ❤️
