I was diagnosed at birth in 1965
Do you already have a diagnosis? How long did it take you to get it?
Yes diagnosed at birth
For what medical specialties have you been treated? What has been the most useful specialty for your?
endocrinologist for CAH cardiologist for heart ablation
What has been the most useful thing for you so far?
having a endocrinologist that will listen
What have been your biggest difficulties?
Chronic pain and adrenal fatigue
How has your social and family environment reacted? Have your social or family relationships changed?
no changes in family relationships but due to anxiety and depression become isolated
What things have you stopped doing?
unable to shop or do housework
What do you think about the future?
am in end stage so I live one day at a time
So far, which years have been the best years in your life? What have you done during them?
the best years were between 18-35
What would you like to do if you didn’t have your condition?
go back to work as a RN and travel to Australia
If you had to describe your life in a sentence, what would it be?
It would be one run on sentence , Live life each day as if it your last and if you see someone without a smile give them yours
Finally, what advice would you give to a person in a similar situation?
take your medication as prescribed and stay as positive as you can be
