Better late than never

This all happend a month after my second birthday. My mom was away for a week, so it was just my dad, my twin sister and me. I was drinking and peeing a lot, my dad didn't worry at first and tought it would go away. My dad didn't know a thing about diabetes, since he was affraid of the doctor he never made an appointment. When my mom got back my dad told her i was drinking, peeing and sleeping much lately. My mom got really angry and yelled "SHE IS DIABETIC, SHE NEEDS TO GO TO THE HOSPITAL! OH MY GOD SHE WILL HAVE THIS FOR THE REST OF HER LIFE!". My dad was clueless and just walked upstairs to pack some things and walked to the car without a word.

In the hospital the doctors confirmed i am a type one diabetic (on the first of july 2000) and that there were ketones in my blood. While i was playing with my food (i was two, don't judge me) my parents learned how to check their bloodsugar so they could check mine. When they saw my dad's bloodsugar the doctor asked him to come with him. My mom was offended because she tought my dad was getting extra training, boy she was wrong. About 15 minutes later he returned and told my mom he has type two diabetes.

That's the story about my diagnose, you are welcome dad!
