My daughter became ill July 2015 she was 15 years old now 16 ,never experienced anything like this her symptoms were so strange and worrying , lost ability to talk , walked with limp hand shaking, hallucinations audio and visual, didn't sleep, angry, upset, laughing . Never been so scared , this went on for weeks in and out of hospital where she had full seizure lots of tests eventually a lumber puncture gave us the answer for nmda her treatment started October to November on steroids she still takes lamotrogine daily. She has no memory of the illness and poor memory since but she's doing well back in school and looking forward to the future, tired ness and memory lasted for months , still a few hiccups here and there she has slight head twich tired etc but really good. Just found a cyst on left ovary 3 weeks ago, it maybe tumour that they looking for waiting on results, fingers and toes crossed. Good luck and best wishes to all suffering and carers of this horrible disease, stay strong and positive xxxxxxxx
