Story about Factor VII Deficiency .

Devi's Story

May 22, 2017

Hi everyone, myself Devi Ramasamy from South India & I'm severe factor 7 deficient. I have bleeding right from my birth after severe bleeding in my belly button. With lot & lot of bleeding episodes in gum, nose, joints, muscles, GI, hematuria (bleeding in urine) & in stool, more importantly very very extremely heavy prolonged menstrual bleeding.  27 yrs back with no proper factor availability & lack of awareness its extremely difficult to survive with a very rare condition like factor 7, that too in developing countries like India. Still lot of third world countries struggling to get factor for serious bleeds. Disabled at very young age due to multiple joint bleeds which leads to severe arthritis & missing education I were forced to succumb to this disorder.. Finally I'm able to get free factor at last & my life improved quite well after joining my local chapter. With lots of bumps, I finally stood up myself with the help of REGULAR INFUSION.. What I have learnt one thing from hemophilia is " Nobody can achieve anything unless they have proper factor infusion"
