My journey

I started having problems at 17 I couldn't handle walking downhill if I was running about or took a wrong footing my knee would pop out and it was happening more and more frequently. I was told I needed to go to the gym, do more exercise by doctors and eventually paid privately too see a bone specialist and when that was ruled out I saw a neurologist privately. Who suspected a few possible outcomes parkinsons......cancer......muscular dystrophy.....we're the winners!!! After some tests at addenbrookes which was such a daunting horrible experience a whole day of being prodded,  poked, electricuted and shoved into an mri. I then awaited 8 months while samples of muscle were sent away to Finland and finally at 21 the birthday present I never wanted....limb girdle 2b. Im now 30 I have a 6 yr old daughter birth was horrendous but so worth it and like most things I fight for what I have and struggle to do what I can but while the blood that runs through my veins is warm I won't let a disease stop my life so ill continue to get my hair did and slap my make up on and live day by day and when I did to up the game in my care ill do it with gritted teeth and try be thankful for everything I still have ✌
