LQT - and our world turns different

My son has been diagnosed clinically in 2013 after experiencing several syncopes under emotional excitement. His EKG showed a prolonged QT time

Rest of family hasn't been diagnosed yet as his genetic test results went back negative.

He was told to quit basketball and all kind of competetive sports - also at school. He's very sad and depressed.

From that day on he's taken betablockers. In 2014 he got an event recorder implanted due to another syncope under betas.

Fortunately psychological support helped him to get over it and to manage his fears. Now he's back in his life, plays table tennis, loves to meet friends and enjoys his life. He carries his AED everywhere he goes.

I'm Admin of the German Long-QT-Facebook group and Facebook page - both called "Herzkinder - Long QT Syndrom"
