Children with MIRAGE syndrome benefit from as much activity as their underlying health allows. Physical therapy and occupational therapy are a vital part of treatment. The children that I have connected with are happy and eager to interact unless they are suffering from an infection, and they should be allowed as much exercise and activity as they can handle. Many children are encumbered with oxygen and feeding pumps and other apparatus, but where there's a will there's a way, and children and their parents can be creative in working around the equipment. I know a little girl who enjoys bike riding and ice skating with her feeding pump in a backpack. And babies can learn to crawl and walk even with their equipment as long as they are supported by caregivers who are open to a little adventure.
