My battle

My story begins in 2004 when I went to the doctor for being really tired. I found out I had Lyme disease and was still feeling tired after going through treatments. I was sent to a sleep doctor and had a sleep study done in November of that year and was diagnosed with just Narcolepsy. I was immediately put on provigil as that was the most effective drug known at the time. I did well on that for awhile. A new sleep specialist moved to the area and I had another sleep study done as he was new to the area and he started me on Xyrem at night and that worked for a few years until it started to make me sleep walk, that was around 2009/2010. Then in 2014 I found out I was pregnant and could not take any medication for my narcolepsy, I ended up with horrible migraines as a result of being a non-medicated pregnant narcoleptic. I had to be taken off of work as a result because I drove a long length of time to go to work. Then I got pregnant again almost right away after my son was born, due to birth control being affected by provigil but did not actually know I was pregnant till I was about 6 months along (I had my period for a few months if my pregnancy and I was also under quite a bit of stress). I actually had no side effects with my second pregnancy as I did with my first and I was taking provigil for a few months if my pregnancy and my child was the healthiest baby that was in the nursery when she was born. After 2 pregnancies I still struggle with daytime sleepiness as I have 2 on the go toddlers that don't sleep as long as I would like them and it's a daily struggle with sleep but I push through it every day.
