Hi world!

In 2018 my (then) boyfriend and I decided to move countries, change jobs and get married. We'd been together for 6 years and really thought we had been through a lot already... good and bad! Life is ups and downs anyway right?
In October we started the process of moving, I had already found a job and started working, and the marriage date was set for December. Sometime in October my bf started complaining about unusually annoying cramps. It was like they were coming from his lungs or underneath his lungs, he couldn't pinpoint it exactly. Maybe he just caught a cold? Maybe he had developed some allergy? It came and went away again.
On the eve of November 9 he arrived at the airport to visit me and go to some job interviews. Next morning we had breakfast and headed out for a stroll. Pretty much out of nowhere he grabbed me and said, we need to go home!
About 1 hour later he was stretched out on the bed, then rolling back together like a ball. Cramping, crying, moaning. I thought of food poisoning. He started vomiting. I called the emergency doc. They told me to wait and see. It could be a virus. Over the course of the next 2 hours I realized this couldn't be a virus. He turned white, sweating like crazy. We drove to the hospital. The only thing that calmed him was a huge shot of pain killers. Then... hours passed. CT scans, ultrasounds, many many doctors murmuring, "huh... strange shape". When it became obvious that there was indeed a huge lump in the bowel and that that required immediate surgery, we were rushed to a different hospital. It was the 11th of November at 3 in the morning when I kissed him goodbye before surgery.
I stood outside the hospital with the same clothes I put on for our morning stroll. Shivering. What just happened?

In fact, our lived changed that night.
