Watchful Waiting

I've only just began have been able to put a face on this previously unknown tumor that entered my life sometime the middle of last year.
Late Spring/Summer I felt discomfort on the side of my left breast. I had been getting mammograms every two years and wanted to schedule appointment since it was time but with the Covid upheaval, waited until my HMO started opening up. Early October, I felt a lump as my hand slide across my breast as I was getting dressed. Proactive, I called for mammogram, was asked to get a referral. Next day saw doctor and following Monday, Mammogram and Ultrasound done. Next day, I was back for biopsy. Ten days later met with Surgeon and lumpectomy was set for October 30th Size was 1.7 x 1.3 x 1.2 cm, centered at 3:00 axis, 6 cm from nipple. Lab work was sent to local lab and then to MD Anderson in Texas to find what tumor was. It took almost a month to get it back with malignant Phyllodes. December 9th, surgeon performed a re-excision and the lab came back with clear margins. Two weeks later completed CT. Two weeks, later met with radiation oncologist for consultation.
Another CT is scheduled in April, with appointment with surgeon at 6 months and mammograms closely watched. After much thought and with little research on a topic that had been previously unknown, I decided to "watchfully wait" to see if next step necessary to be taken. On hold regarding radiation treatment that was offered.
I feel I was fortunate to have found fairly early and medical help happen quickly, but left wondering what the future holds.
