My Chiari journey.

I've always had problems with headaches and back pain. Doctors always told me it was migraines. In November of this year I was at work and went to stand up and became very dizzy, disoriented and felt like I was going to pass out. I lowered myself to the floor and couldn't get back up. I couldn't even crawl. I was scared and thought I was having a stroke or dying. I started yelling for help and the maintenance man came and called 911. I was admitted to the hospital after many tests and still no answers. The ER doctor even accused me of taking drugs bc my heart rate was staying around 130 and would go up to 160 when I'd stand. Right before discharge I still didn't have a diagnosis. The doctor decided to do an MRI and I finally had a diagnosis, Chiari Malformation. Things progressed quickly. I began to have trouble swallowing and my legs and arms were going numb. I continued to have syncope episodes and was very off balance. I had decompression surgery on January 20, 2015. I still struggle daily with dizziness, nausea, and several several more neurological symptoms.
