Story about Celiac Disease .

My diagnosis

Dec 2, 2

By: Hanna

Basically I was rushed into hospital at the age of 6 and the doctors thought it was leukaemia. Turned out to be severe anaemia thankfully. My iron levels have been low for years. On and off iron tablets. Had an endoscopy in 2009 to see if I had an ulcer or h.pylori but everything was fine. Was diagnosed with IBS in 2012. Went back to my doctor in 2014 and told him I thought it was coeliac disease after years of skin and stomach problems, hair loss, fatigue and feeling sick. Bloods came back positive, also calcium deficiency. Had to wait 10 months for my endoscopy. Result of endo was inflammation in small bowel. Biopsy after 7 weeks revealed I have coeliac disease. Finally an answer after 20 years of suffering.
