How did all start?
I got a stomach ache all of a sudden it didn't go away and got worse.
Do you already have a diagnosis? How long did it take you to get it?
I was diagnosed with Chronic Pancreatitis. It took about a month to get the diagnosis
For what medical specialties have you been treated? What has been the most useful specialty for your?
I have treated with pain management which has helped with the pain somewhat The best thing for me to get things to calm down has been rest and a liquid diet
What has been the most useful thing for you so far?
Pain management
What have been your biggest difficulties?
Being able to eat without it flaring things up
How has your social and family environment reacted? Have your social or family relationships changed?
I don't want to do anything anymore afraid of a flare up. My family have been very supportive and are doing what they can to help me
What things have you stopped doing?
I haven't been able to make it back to work yet. i have also stopped eating red meat
What do you think about the future?
I hope I can find a doctor who can help me be able to manage things better
So far, which years have been the best years in your life? What have you done during them?
Well my current years have been the best years of my life until now. I just got married a year ago and have really been enjoying life with her and her kids. This diagnosis has changed a lot of things I am struggling to feel good enough to do things
What would you like to do if you didn’t have your condition?
I would like to go to work or go fishing
If you had to describe your life in a sentence, what would it be?
A rough but rewarding journey thought time
Finally, what advice would you give to a person in a similar situation?
Find a good doctor who knows about the pancreas
