How did all start?
It started when I was 28.
Do you already have a diagnosis? How long did it take you to get it?
After going to a dermatologist and doing a biopsy. In a few days I was diagnosed.
For what medical specialties have you been treated? What has been the most useful specialty for your?
The creams I was prescribed were so expensive and they really didn’t seem to be very helpful.
What has been the most useful thing for you so far?
I really just use Vaseline, baby oil, aloe, antibiotic creams and itch creams for break outs.
What have been your biggest difficulties?
It seems if I get sick or upset I really break out badly.
How has your social and family environment reacted? Have your social or family relationships changed?
No. I got married and I just deal with the bad breakouts when they occur. It comes and goes.
What things have you stopped doing?
Nothing.
What do you think about the future?
It’s just a part of life that you must deal with. Roll with the punches.
So far, which years have been the best years in your life? What have you done during them?
Watching my son become a man with a family.
What would you like to do if you didn’t have your condition?
I don’t let it affect my life.
If you had to describe your life in a sentence, what would it be?
Life is a journey, live, love and be happy.
Finally, what advice would you give to a person in a similar situation?
Take care of yourself. I have found my emotions and health really affect this disease. And roll with the punches.
