How did all start?
A panic attack that was so intense it lasted 3 days
Do you already have a diagnosis? How long did it take you to get it?
I do not for dp/dr, but I do have a diagnosis for generalized anxiety, clinical depression, and bpd.
For what medical specialties have you been treated? What has been the most useful specialty for your?
Low dosage Xanax prescription
What has been the most useful thing for you so far?
Becoming aware of the fact that whats going on around me is real, its happening, and I cant change it.
What have been your biggest difficulties?
Understanding it might last forever.
How has your social and family environment reacted? Have your social or family relationships changed?
Family has reacted okay to it, they try their best to talk me through it when they can. My relationship with my family hasn't changed (if anything, I've become closer to my mom). Socially, I know my friends have seen a difference. They're trying to understand, but it's hard for most of them to.
What things have you stopped doing?
Eating a lot, going out.
What do you think about the future?
Thinking about it scares me. I don't want this to last forever.
So far, which years have been the best years in your life? What have you done during them?
The past 2 years. I broke up with an abusive boyfriend and got into a relationship with an amazing man. I got a new car, new phone, and a new passion to live.
What would you like to do if you didn’t have your condition?
Travel
If you had to describe your life in a sentence, what would it be?
Everything happens for a reason.
Finally, what advice would you give to a person in a similar situation?
Talk about it. Don't bottle it up. It'll only make things worse.
