Long to diagnose

Apr 5, 2016

Actually my mother was informed that I had a slight thyroid problem in 1972.  Between 1982 and 2000 I would tell my doctors of my symptoms and it was ignored.  In 2000 I found a doctor who listened.  He didn't know what he was actually looking for but ran a bunch of tests and hit.  He was a good doctor but his knowledge of thyroid disease was limited.  I had to change doctors in 2013 and found a doctor who recognized the disease and said that her knowledge was limited and recomended a specialist.
