Barefoot_Biker's interview

How did all start?

I tried to have children and found that I was infertile.

Do you already have a diagnosis? How long did it take you to get it?

I was diagnosed when I was 25, and at the time there was little information about the condition in Canada. I had to research this on the internet and contact American people to find out more.

For what medical specialties have you been treated? What has been the most useful specialty for your?

Lack of Testosterone which has helped to curb the mood swings and allow better cognitive thought.

What has been the most useful thing for you so far?

The testosterone has been the best thing, it has changed my ability to function in life.

What have been your biggest difficulties?

Doctors not informed in the conditions, or not wanted to learn about it and work with me. I have found many who would rather I not ever see them.

How has your social and family environment reacted? Have your social or family relationships changed?

Disbelief and denial, also I find I can never date and have really no hope in finding someone in my life.

What things have you stopped doing?

Much of my eating habits have changed to curb mood swings and still allow digestion

What do you think about the future?

Only really think about my future, I have learned that people care nothing of me.

So far, which years have been the best years in your life? What have you done during them?

In my 50s have been very good. The medical system has matured with more research and understanding, but I would still get far better care in the US than in Canada. Canada just does not teach their doctors on the condition.

What would you like to do if you didn’t have your condition?

Live a normal life, and maybe get married. As is marriage just doesn't work with this condition.

If you had to describe your life in a sentence, what would it be?

A tragic love story

Finally, what advice would you give to a person in a similar situation?

Do your research and find people who can help you get the mental focus and meds that will give you a good life.
