Beware Flu Shot

Apr 12, 2016

Mine began shortly after the second flu shot I received.  I had no reaction the first year.  At first, it was a few spots on my leg that were mistaken for staph infection. Antibiotics didn't help and it moved to my arm. Then the doctor thought it was scabies. The treatment didn't help, in fact made it worse. Now it was on my torso, front and back, as well as both arms and legs. The only thing that helped was exposing it to sun.

Finally, I found a doctor who biopsied it and diagnosed it as lichen planus. It took another month before I found a doctor to effectively treat it (the doctor who diagnosed it decided to stop treating general dermatology patients so I found someone who would). The prednisone treatment lasted 3 weeks and stopped it from spreading and "deactivated" the spots I already have (which are now scarred light brown and all over my body). I have a few new active spots, but will wait to see if it spreads again before I take more prednisone since it did cause a 20 lb weight gain and I have just started to get it off after 4 months.

Mine started soon after i got the flu shot which they sprayed into my nose. The nasal one. Before that I always got injection flu shots and I was fine. This year the flu shot people who came to my office said that they have discontinued the nasal flu shot because of side effects. hmmmm
