A Lyme Disease story

I was finally diagnosed with Chronic Lyme Disease in early April 2015 with doctors believing it began in 2008 judging on his symptoms. This past year has be extremely rough for him. In this time, I have seen over 30 specialists and also had a few hospital stays. Not one doctor could figure out what was wrong with me, most believing it was all in his head and that I needed psychological help. I started treatment April 27, 2015 in Columbia, Missouri. 

I have had so many issues over the last year, which include passing out at least 8-10 times a day, and when I am not passed out I am extremely dizzy for the rest of the day. I get severe headaches and I also have extreme fatigue which results in me not even being able to get out of bed most days. I have lost my hearing resulting in getting hearing aids. My memory is very bad in which I have a hard time remembering my name off and on, not knowing where I am, and forgetting things people tell me. 

When I pass out, I have bruised my face up and I have also gotten a few concussions from this. I had to crawl to the bathroom and had to crawl to take a shower. In June 2015 I was rushed to the hospital, I ended up having two mini strokes due to the Lyme disease. Every day is a constant struggle for me. Recently I have become paralyzed from the knees down on both legs so I am now in a wheelchair. I have done a number of rounds of pills and iv medications, nothing has really worked to this point. I'm on my last option for iv meds and if it doesn't work they will take out my picc line and go back to looking at more pill medications that might help.
 
I remain hopeful that the doctors start taking Lyme Disease seriously and figure out the best way possible to help people.
