loved my new house but then it caused me health problems

We moved in to our newly built home in 2001 and had no idea that would lead to me developing sensitivity to so many things. First of all it was when my step sons were using glue that was in the Christmas present and when I walked in to the kitchen where they were doing an airfix model my eyes started stinging so badly it was like acid been thrown in them and I had to close my eyes and got out of the kitchen. Once out of the room I was fine so realized it was the glue. I think found out all sorts of things began to make my eyes water, or my nose run and throat became all croaky from the post nasal drip, I started to be tired all the time and have pains in my body and thought I was getting senior moments although I was only in my 50s. VOC sprays, perfume, cleaning products, print on some magazines. There were places I could not go. I had not heard of MCS and looked to see what was in glue to affect me and other things and discovered that it was formaldehyde that was the problem so then looked to see if there other people sensitive to this and found out that I was not alone. At that time I found a yahoo group and then another group in the USA. I then developed high blood pressure and went on tablets for this a couple of years later and then a couple of years after that I was diagnosed with diabetes type 2. I had put on a couple of stones in weight since I married my second husband in 1999 and then had gone on a low fat diet and had lost weight but then lost a lot of weight in the space of a few weeks. I have IBS like symptoms and had this before I married but I became intolerant to a lot more foods especially vegetables which is not very helpful when you have diabetes.

Over the past 15 years I have found what things to avoid using in the home and in personal care and I make my own unscented soap, body butter, hair shine and lip balm and the kitchen units have out gassed. The lads have left home and I would like to move near my mum as my dad has died in that time and my sister who lived near her but the MCS is a problem.
